COMMERCIAL FACADE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

The program is designed to initiate aesthetic improvements and historical preservation of downtown Peru. RDP’s design committee is the administrative group for the program and will work directly with applicants to achieve successful revitalization projects in a timely manner, providing financial support upon completion of projects.

The program offers 50% matching funding of up to $5,000 per property for eligible improvements, which include exterior painting, exterior lighting, windows and doors and façade maintenance/restoration. These are funds that have been set aside to help downtown business owners make a visible impact on our community, by improving the appearance of their buildings.

Applications for the Commercial Facade Improvement Funding Program are available to commercial business or property owners within the downtown Peru district.

Since 2015, the Commercial Facade improvement program has awared $175,000 in matching grants leading to $1.5 million dollars privately invested in the downtown.
